Evangelicals Evening Descends

If I lived in Oklahoma, I would be depressed out of my mind. Literally. Like in the Jalen Rose literally kind of way.*
I don’t know what the fuck would get me out of bed. There are probably like 18 hot chicks in the whole state. I bet they all have boyfriends and believe in things like “marriage” and “forever” and “commitment.” No thank you. Keep those fools in Oklahoma. I hear great weather is harder to find than a hot chick. No oceans. And I haven’t checked my topography map recently, but I’m pretty sure your average town in Oklahoma isn’t… covered in mountains. I mean, I used to have a whole host of friends that lived in Oklahoma.** But then they either moved away or got shot.

The Evangelicals are from a place called Norman, Oklahoma. The sweetest fucking thing about the entire state of Oklahoma*** is the band The Evangelicals. Everything about the Evangelicals is pretty kick ass. I haven’t been able to get this song Midnight Vignette out of my head for weeks now. I would go to Oklahoma to see them play music. I would hate every minute of it, but these are the things, as a legit journalist, I would suffer through for their awesome music.**** Everybody I play this song for asks who it is. Mostly because I hand them a sheet of paper while saying “Read the sheet aloud please”. And the sheet says “Hey who is this awesome band?” I do this so that when I write I can say things like “Everyone I played this song for asked who it was” and not sound like a liar. I hate liars. I think people really do like it though.

Get their album The Evening Descends here.

* For those of you who have ever watched Jalen Rose speak on National TV. I figuratively don’t think he understands what the word literally really literally means.
** Not really.
*** Besides the fact that it houses a bunch of people I’m glad don’t live in California? Keep them out.
**** I’m pretty lazy. So maybe I wouldn’t. I’d think about it.
