If you can listen to MGMT’s Electric Feel and not have it stuck in your head for the next two weeks straight, then the government would like to test you for superpowers immediately.
I’m pretty much obsessed with all things MGMT at the moment. I’m predicting/hoping that Electric Feel is this year’s Young Folks and everyone from Kanye West to Beyond the Wizards Sleeve remixes the hell out of it. Let’s just say I’m obsessed with all things MGMT.
Here’s a question for you. Is there a song that Holy Ghost can’t make more perfect? I say nay. My first run through of his “Of Moons Birds and Monsters” remix was like the first time I saved three children from a burning building. Listening to MGMT’s version is like rescuing one kid from being on fire. It’s still a cool story but it’s not going to get you laid at the bar. Think about it, which pickup line sounds better?
Option A) “Hey I threw a bucket of water on a little kid this afternoon.”
Option B) “Hey ladies, don’t worry, drinks are on me, I’m rich AND I saved three children from a building that was on fire with flames today.”
I rest my case.
