Grizzly Bear is coming to the Wiltern this Friday night. It is unfathomable to me how anyone with the internet wouldn’t know who Grizzly Bear is. Sometimes the sheer stupidity of my not so fellow man is downright fucking… awe-inspiring. I’ve held off writing about their new album Veckatimest because even though I don’t read all the other garbage music blogs I know they are writing about it. As they should. I’m so fucking pissed about Friday. I can’t plan anything to save my life. I don’t even know what I’m going to have for dinner and it’s like 1:15am. So the fact that I’ve had Grizzly Bear tickets since three months ago means that yeah I think they might put on a half way decent show. Do you see what I’m trying to do here? I’m trying to underwhelm you. If you don’t know about the fucking Bermuda musical trianglefecta that is Grizzly Bear/ Daniel Rossen/ Deparment of Eagles…you might want to re adjust your flight path because I’m about to fuck your shit up. I’m so pissed I’ll be on a flight to D.C instead of going I had to buy those 1200 dollar headphones I was talking about just to keep me calm and sedated on the flight. Don’t worry, I’ll be breaking in some new Senn’s with Daniel Rossen’s brilliant cover of JoJo’s not so smashing hit “Too Little Too Late”. Oh I get it! JoJo is not a sweet name for a white girl! Hahahahaha! Oh my goodness I just cannot help myself with the jokes sometimes. While the rest of the album doesn’t blow…I would have shelled 85 bones just to hear them play Southern Point 3 times in a row. Now that’s a way to start an album. If you’re trapped in the pavement unparadise of the Orange County than you can catch a Girl Talk show that same night in Anaheim. It’s going to be Grizzly Bear all week…so if you don’t like them you should just take this week off from ignoring the last part of my posts. Word.
