This is, by some measures, a stopgap post. I pinged some people who sent us some music, asked them to send us some more, and I’m waiting until I have a full cart before I deliver it all. Charging my lazers, as it were. Also, it’s proof positive that we like it when you send us your music,* so. . .keep doing that. While we’re waiting for internet marketing to take its effect, I’ll show you a bunch of great shit I got for free on the internet.
Let’s see. . .okay, number one, Lil Jon was kind enough to release a new song via his twitter, which, if you don’t follow it, you’ll be glad to know is as CAPITALIZED as you would expect. Let me be real with you: I love Lil Jon. I do. People think I’m being sarcastic when I talk about how much I love him. If you get four or five Hennessys in me I’ll tell you that he’s one of the great musical geniuses of our time, and again, I won’t be joking. He is at once the personification and the deconstruction of the totality contemporary hip-hop idiom. He’s the unholy spawn of George Clinton and Flavor Flav, with a liberal dose of PCP. He’s sort of the Marilyn Manson of the rap world, in that his music is more about your reaction to the music than the aesthetics of the music itself. And his new song is, well, it’s everything I just mentioned. You can download it from this tweet.
Kay, I’ve also got some Wallpaper. for you. I’ve been meaning to write about him for a long time, actually. I heard his remix of ‘Combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell’ over the summer, and it was awesome, and I have his album that came out around that time, and it’s also awesome. I suppose I can make it up to him by plugging his compilation of remixes and mashups he recently released, once again for free, once again on the internet. The capsule review is as follows: remember all the stuff I just said about Lil Jon? Well, that applies to Wallpaper. too. Also he’s white. In fact, he’s also sort of a deconstruction of the white hipster’s role in the hip-hop scene, but it’d take two or three more Hennessys to get a handle on that.
Lastly, since Adam brought up Flying Lotus, here’s his remix of ‘A Milli.’ Yeah, that song is played out by now, but that’s because it’s one of the best songs of the last decade and FlyLo put together one of the best remixes. I can’t remember where I found this one, but Synthetic Pubes [nsfw] evidently found it too, so it’s where-ever he found it. Might I recommend downloading it illegally?

* Also proof positive that once you do we won’t give you a moment’s rest.
