TIWWI (This is What We Imagine) has an event downtown at the E2 building this weekend to raise money for kids (see video above). I despise kids mostly. So we should give them as much money as possible to help them out. Money fixes everything. The song Mo’ Money Mo’ Problems is the biggest piece of propaganda… since the last big piece of significant propaganda. Of course people with money will tell you the more money you have the more problems you have. It’s the exact same reason people from L.A. say the traffic is bad and we have crazy smog problems. It’s to keep people out. We don’t need more people here. Just like rich people don’t need more people competing for money. They want more money themselves because they know it’s the secret to life. If money can’t solve all of your problems, you need to get new problems. So by all means let’s hook these kids up.
The Event is called Night Lights and you can get tickets for 12 dollars here.TIWWI gave us three sets of tickets to give away though, so leave a comment below with your email address and why you think you’re awesome. I’ll pick three people who write awesome comments (ultra randomly) to give the tickets too. Princeton is playing a set along with Voxhaul Broadcast and The Botticellis. A couple of different DJs who don’t date Lindsay Lohan will be running sets throughout the night. From what I understand they will make you want to dance. TIWWI is also promising to have some sort of booth where photography happens while you’re making out with a hot date or something. Fuck, I might have to rig this competition so that I win a set of tickets. I wonder if I could figure out a way to do that without anyone noticing. Hmm. Tricky. Party rocks off at 8. Get directions here.
*** Update ***
A couple of killjoys requested we take down the previously posted tracks. So I guess we’ll just shift the happiness to something else. Like this song about Kids by MGMT. Because we’re crazy into theming here. And MGMT is pretty good at music. Even Paul McCartney is obsessed. If you google the phrase “Paul McCartney’s best work” the fourth result is MGMT. This song is so good, it almost makes me like the idea of liking kids. Not. But For some reason this song now makes me more and more excited for Night Lights as I’ve been listening to it on repeat for like 15 minutes more than a quarter of an hour. Thanks Pavlov! Hahaha!** Alright, I gots to get back to my “how do I rig this competition” meeting I’m having with two small dudes on my shoulders. It’s way more odd than it sounds, I’m sure.
** Bringing it back again! Theming!

Ryan added these pithy words on Jul 22 09 at 1:35 pmDo you still have any tickets left?
Tiffany Lee added these pithy words on Jul 22 09 at 7:32 pmI deserve these tickets because last time they didn’t make out with me, oh and also music is for the kids and stuff. And it’s my friend’s birthday and I crashed her car and I’m broke so it’s the least I can do.
Alexandria added these pithy words on Jul 22 09 at 9:03 pmI’ve seen Princeton only 2 times–once in LA, once in NY– and 3 (3 sets of tickets, 3rd times the charm, good things come in 3, etc) just seems to be the magic number, although I am fairly confident I will see Princeton much more. Also, I like to dance and play tambourine. I think we could all use a little more of that here or there.
I hope this will suffice as an entry to your awesome awesome contest.
Jerry Cervantes added these pithy words on Jul 23 09 at 10:24 amI deserve these tickets, because as a kindergarten teacher at an underprivileged school in the Valley, I know all too well what it’s like to see children in not so comfortable surroundings.
taco cat added these pithy words on Jul 23 09 at 11:11 amtickets? can you believe guillermo del toro is going to blaspheme the Hobbit? kids are weird because if you have one your life is ruined. you are now a caretaker and no longer a real person who is not constantly stressed out because a real life is in your hands. what a doozy. i’m never having one unless i fall in love.
