If I was in the middle of saving someone’s life, I would most surely walk away and let them die for the chance to get Atmosphere tickets. I’d probably melt the rubber off the bottom of my shoes* trying to get to the front of the line. Why?
Because MC Slug is as equally intoxicating live as he is recorded. Just don’t ask him to play “Fuck You Lucy.” It’s not a good idea.
I’m always amazed at how many people aren’t in love with Atmosphere. But if I had 30 bucks for every voicemail that said “Oh my god, I listened to that Atmsphere album for like the tenth time and all of a sudden I just think it’s the most amazing thing ever.” I’d have at least 290 dollars. Easy money.
It takes a minute to stick. From the beats to the lyrics. But in the end it’s like slow-drying glue that can’t be broken once it seals. For those of you out here who aren’t good at reading titles and/or headlines: Atmosphere will be playing a show at the Hollywood Palladium on August 19th at like 8:30pm. That my friends, is a Wednesday. If it’s any encouragement, the last time I went to the Palladium I met the hottest chick ever. She was pretty awesome. We made out.
Atmosphere’s most recent album sounds exactly like a hangover feels. But in the good way. Technically they did just drop an EP called “Leak at Will”. By most recent, I mean the one called “When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold”. Best album title of 2008.
