At the Drive In

A long time ago some people got really smart and started a band called At the Drive In. They went on to make really great music. I sometimes wonder if they could have been the Jordan and Pippen of Prog Rock. But no, they went the Shaq & Kobe route…before they won three titles no less. At the Drive In became The Mars Volta and Sparta. Both have gone on to critical acclaim. Wooooh. At the Drive In was the best thing they’ll ever do and I hope it haunts their dreams at night. And not with friendly ghosts. The big ones. Scary too. Nonetheless, the next best thing is that Mars Volta is playing tonight at the Ventura Theatre. So if you would want to listen to something that’s almost as good as this song…you should check it out. I’m holding out for the At the Drive In reunion. It’ll happen, it’ll happen.

I thought they were going to change the music world, but then they broke up and God gave us Limp Bizkit instead. It’s just not fair.
