I heard this song on the way to work this morning. It has nothing to do with a gay fish or American Idol, but television soundtrack darlings “The Fray” are getting new air time post-”You Found Me”, which was a song I actually found interesting for the four seconds it took before it was overplayed. Now, I don’t LOVE The Fray by any means, but this cover is pretty interesting. Translating it acoustically really brings out that sadness in the lyrics, whereas the original comes across as more angry. But, there it is, in every stanza from Mr. West, words or lines that betray the loneliness in the impetus of the song. Who knew rappers could be so deep?
I’m drafting an email that goes:
“Dear Fray,
More stuff like this, please.
Sincerely,
Me”
